Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Hobbytech ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use Recipe Runner (the "App"), available at reciperunner.net and as a mobile application. By using Recipe Runner, you agree to the practices described below.

• Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and authentication identifiers. If you sign in with a third-party provider (such as Google), we receive basic profile information from that provider.
• Recipe URLs and content. When you paste or share recipe links (for example, from social media or recipe websites), we process those URLs and their extracted content — ingredients, steps, images, and notes you add — so we can build your shopping lists and cookbook.
• Shopping lists, preferences, and cooking history. Lists you save, favorite stores, ratings, and cook progress are stored in your account.
• Usage data. We collect basic analytics such as pages visited, features used, device type, browser, approximate location (derived from IP), and error logs to operate and improve the App.
• Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details are collected and processed directly by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

• To provide and operate the App — saving recipes, generating shopping lists, and syncing across devices.
• To look up grocery pricing and product availability at stores you choose.
• To personalize the experience — suggested recipes, recent stores, and tailored recommendations.
• To process payments, manage subscriptions, and send transactional messages (receipts, account notices).
• To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve performance and security.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

We share data with trusted service providers only as needed to run the App:

• Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
• Grocery store APIs (e.g., Kroger and other partners) — to fetch product prices and availability for items on your lists.
• Cloud hosting and authentication providers — to host the App, store your data securely, and authenticate sign-ins.
• AI providers — to extract structured ingredients and steps from recipe URLs you submit.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security commitments.

We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure how the App is used. You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser at any time; doing so may sign you out and reset preferences.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Recipes, lists, and notes remain until you delete them or close your account. Backups and limited logs may persist for up to 90 days after deletion for security and recovery purposes. Billing records are retained as required by tax and accounting law.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Export your recipes, lists, and notes.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your account and associated personal data.
• Withdraw consent or object to certain processing, where applicable by law.

Recipe Runner is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We use industry-standard safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, and monitored infrastructure — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to keep your data safe.

Your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in the App or by email.
